Wellington Park

Thursday, January 2, 2014 – The organization Neighbors to Save Wellington Park is asking for comment letters to Snohomish County PDS to preserve the former golf course as a open space park rather than a sports complex.  Issues include traffic, noise, and the environment.  The deadline for comments is January 13.  Read more below, and at their website.

This project has been the subject of some controversy.  Mostly opposed by neighbors, but Snohomish County argues they have responded to concerns & are implementing some Low Impact Design features which will protect Little Bear Creek.

From Neighbors to Protect Wellington Park:

If you would like to submit your comment on the LDA permit application for the proposed sports complex, we have a general comment letter that you can use. It covers many of the most significant problems with the Parks Department’s Master Plan.PLEASE take a look at the letter (follow link http://savewellingtonpark.blogspot.com/ for letter). Copy it into an email, personalize it if you’d like to reflect your particular concerns, and then send it off to the Planning & Development Services (“PDS”) Department  at the email or postal addresses shown below. Please also send a copy to us, for our big book of objections.Today it’s January 2nd, and you still have time to either email your comment to the PDS, or to mail them a printed, signed copy. The deadline for LDA permit application comments is January 13th; absolutely all responses must be in their hands before the close of business on that Monday.
